Join the Freedom! Freedom Roadtrips – Your Trip of a Lifetime

Freedom Roadtrips caters to motorcycle enthusiasts who want to experience a riding holiday in the USA but don’t have the time to organise and plan the minute details that usually come with planning trips especially those involving travels overseas. The business is the brainchild of our long-time client, Greg Smith.

A cross country ride in the USA while riding the famous Harley-Davidson® is the main selling point of Freedom Roadtrips. The ultimate experience of motorcycle touring, outstanding adventures and memories that the rider will talk about for years are what sets Freedom Roadtrips apart from other businesses.

The rider’s safety and comfort and the documentation of the experience are some of the priorities of Freedom Roadtrips. GPS trackers are attached to the bikes in order for the riders’ families and friends to be able to track the route of the tour daily via the internet. Multiple video cameras are also mounted on the motorcycles in order to record the trip for a complimentary DVD which the rider can share and revisit with his peers and loved ones.

“I have been a client of McKinley Plowman since October 2009 for my personal income tax when I was looking to move from my Accountant of some 10 years who wasn’t able to provide me with the level of tax guidance I was seeking. In early 2014 I approached McKinley Plowman for guidance in appropriate company structures as my wife and I were considering the possibility of setting up an Australian based Tour Company taking customers to the USA to ride Harley-Davidson® Motorcycles across the country.  We had a desire to keep all our financial affairs with the same firm, as it made sense to do so. As part of due diligence, we did seek advice from other Accountants, both in Perth and the east coast.  This became somewhat frustrating in that we were provided inconsistent and multiple differing options/views on how to structure our company.

My wife and I met with Alec Blacklaw and Steven Lisle on a number of occasions to work through an understanding of the right structure for our requirements – which was based on wanting to understand what we wanted to achieve in the business.
